More news for my paladin!

Sorry about the delay on getting BlizzCon info and impressions out. I’ve been packing for college – I leave tomorrow.

Just some quick notes on the paladin before I head to bed – I did a timed Oculus today, we finished with 3 minutes to spare despite only having 3 drakes, so I got the speed achievement as well as my Red Proto-Drake in the mail. Of course, I’m nowhere close to having enough gold to use it. =)

I also tanked a few bosses in 10-Ulduar tonight – we did Flame Leviathan, XT (I main tanked), Kolo (main tanked again), and Auriaya (who I also main tanked). Auriaya dropped a shield for me too, so I was able to upgrade my old Titansteel Shield wall which I had had since shortly after I hit 80.

This also put my paladin very close gear-wise to where my mage is – basically the next upgrade I get for the paladin will make her have better gear than my poor mage. As sad as that sounds, I do really enjoy tanking, and am looking forward to continuing to tank in Ulduar and also more raids past that.

An eventful day

Well, I spent today relatively quietly, watching some anime (Death Note and Kasimasi, for those interested. I highly recommend Kasimasi, some of the later episodes are real tear-jerkers.) Almost leveled my hunter to 30, and did SSC and Gruul’s tonight. (Well, not all of SSC, but a decent amount–raid went late tonight while we downed Lurker, Leo, Kalithress, and the one guy with the murlocs.)

Got a nice upgrade off of Leo; won the roll for the crit trinket too, but I did pass on that despite its being a huge upgrade for me. Even so, I should see a nice DPS increase with this new weapon.

Being guildless for the last week has been interesting. No less than 5 guilds approached me about a possible membership, but I pretty much had my heart set on Cloudy Day.

Speaking of Cloudy Day, I did an interview with Nino tonight, and I’m now officially an “Initiate” of CD! It’s exciting business, and I’m looking forward to a bright future with this guild. Very proud to have <Cloudy Day> under my name, that’s for sure.

OMG UPGRADE!

Well it has been an eventful first week of college. Fortunately I still had time to play WoW, as is obvious from my new loot from our near-successful Kara clear–the [Nathrezim Mindblade] from Prince. I didn’t get the HR wand that dropped, but it did help a member of our guild that really needed it, so I’m happy. =)

We’ve been working on gearing up a couple of our tanks recently so we won’t have to PUG tanks for Kara again–this week our pugged main tank didn’t have Omen, so things were a bit trickier than usual.

I’ve been getting a lot of gear upgrades recently, really happy about it. As far as I know, I’m gonna be running ZA tonight too. Very exciting!

I’ve also been down in SMV recently starting the Champion of the Naaru quest chain. Hoping to finish the heroics in the next week and then try to get into a Mag run. =)

So yeah. Got Prince, Netherspite, and Nightbane down–in that order. Only one death on Netherspite!

We pretty much own. Here we are in front of Nightbane. =) As you may note, Detlo didn’t quite make it into our picture, but you can still at least see his name. A bunch of caster stuff dropped, thankfully–Galistul got a couple upgrades, and I got rid of another blue in favor of the off hand from Nightbane.

Some great strategy help from Bento: despite a brand-new strategy he gave us on Prince (Comment this post if you’d like the strat, it’s quite good), along with directions and coordination on the 2 dragons (the Nightbane strat was excellent too!), his best advice was to Kythrine: “Okay, here’s the masterful strategy: strip naked and go play with Netherspite” after a wipe.

Of course, I can’t not mention his hilarious practical joke he played on Michelle after the run: as he was playing her toon, he took her toon to the tram between SW and IF, destroyed the hearthstone, stripped her naked, and left her there. =) It was very amusing, when she logged in especially.

I also got my next rank of the Violet Signet–only about 15k more rep till I get the top rank one!

Thinking about buying [Sunfury Signet] to get to Exalted with Scryers. Any suggestions?

As much as I love playing with Vel (especially after today!) I’m thinking about working a lot more on my druid healer. I love druid-style heals, and think it’d be fun to play him to 70. Advice from resto druids on how to play as well as advice from everyone about what to do is appreciated!

23 more badges till I get my Corrupted Soulcloth Pantaloons! So excited!

It’s so good to be back. I really missed everyone in the guild, and am happy to have returned. =)
