BACK WITH A VENGEANCE
8 05 2008Well, I have just had the single best WoW day of my life. I just got into what looks to be my long-term guild for now (<Neo Imperela>)–I quit out of <The Onslaught>. Sorry Laujun, but the guild was just languishing…I don’t intend to be coming back. And to think I’ve been with you guys ever since that Ulda run…my sincere apologies for not talking to anyone beforehand. Believe me, I would if I could but no one else was on at the time. Sharn, Laujun, Homegrowned, I’ve added you guys to friends and next time one of you gets on I’ll be sure to let you know about the whole thing. In addition to everything else that’s happened (including 50% worth of leveling), I also finally broke 1000 HKs after being 1 short for quite a long time.
Anyway, I love my new guild! Mymichelle is pretty much an amazing GM, and everyone in the guild’s really nice. As a guild, they’ve already got 3 bank tabs and are looking to do raids, pvp, leveling…pretty much everything. It’s not too big to handle–55 members–so I think I’ll have a very good time, especially since one of the main focuses of the guild is minimal drama. The guild’s got a pretty good advancement system, too; I also need to head over to the site and register sometime soon. I fully intend to donate a bunch of my greens as well
I has plenty.
I actually wasn’t planning to switch over, but Mymichelle invited our instance group over to chat on Vent, and I did end up joining the guild. So far, it’s been a great experience!
Anyway, in addition: with the laggy intarwebz in Maryland/D.C. I only got to 15 on my Doomhammer twink lock, also named Oriannicus…however today I ran 3 HFC instances–2 ramps and a BF. Started out okay in our first Ramps group (great healing from Sundragon that run–actually a shadow priest) and well tanked by Mystyk. Also having 2 locks in our group was nice, even if I did get out-DPS’ed. Mithrym, I appreciate your comment that I have to think about what I’m doing when DPSing, but I still think locks require almost as much effort.
Guess we’ll have to agree to disagree, or something like that.
Took a quick break for dinner, and then the fun began. Spent forever looking for a tank, then a DPS dropped…I decided to go looking for a healer so Sundragon could DPS, and picked up Mymichelle. …after which our tank d/c’d, unfortunately. I immediately pst’d all the warriors and paladins from 61-64 before I was reminded that a bear druid tank would mean that I didn’t have to deal with any aggro problems, ever.
So it began, with Votaur tanking, Mymichelle healing, and me, Sundragon, and Bloodright DPSing. (Vampiric Touch is a win!) We had a 60/60/61/61/63 group (I’m now over halfway to 64 after today), so neither I nor Mymichelle (the only two that made it onto Vent) expected to get out of this instance wipeless. Indeed, we did wipe once. Only once, and that was when we couldn’t handle an accidental 2-pull PLUS a pat. These encounters, however, were few and far between. Votaur, you rank up there with the best tanks I’ve ever played with, by the way. You must be scary good when you’re not out of practice
We made it through easily; unfortunately my bracers didn’t drop, but the run was more than worth it by the social aspect.
We moved on to do a Ramps run, and rocked through it no trouble.
If anyone needs BF or Ramps strats, feel free to pst me on Doom or Gul’dan if I’m on. Either Velinath or Oriannicus on either server.
We owned some serious face today.
Grats to Mymichelle on 62, grats to everyone on gear
See ya in Coilfang!
PS: Some strategy post will be coming soon. I just have to keep reminding myself, and then do some research.
PPS: My financial standing is getting better, although it’s far from enough to buy my swift mount: I’m currently hovering around 250g.
